How to Take

While we are not 'allowed' to provide medical advice, menstruating women have typically used Protect cyclically, taking 6 drops twice a day orally, only between ovulation and menstruation, and not taking it from menstruation until the next ovulation.
For topical treatment of sun damaged skin, burns, acne, or wrinkles, Protect can be applied directly to the affected area.

We are unable to offer medical advice regarding the usage of progesterone, such as inquiries related to pregnancy, menopause or substituting medications. We recommend that these inquiries be directed to your medical provider for proper guidance and assistance.

Mainly - progesterone is anti-cortisol and anti-estrogen.

Progesterone is the primary hormone for adaptation and resistance to stress. Adequate amounts of progesterone in the body prevent the excess production of cortisol, one of our primary stress hormones. This is because progesterone inhibits enzymes that increase the production of estrogen, serotonin, and histamine and decreases enzymes that promote excitatory neurotransmitters such as ACTH and NMDA, which can contribute to stress and anxiety.

Progesterone is primarily associated with the female reproductive system. Its central role revolves around preparing the uterus for pregnancy and supporting early pregnancy development. During the menstrual cycle, progesterone levels rise after ovulation, helping to thicken the uterine lining in anticipation of embryo implantation. If pregnancy doesn't occur, progesterone levels decrease, leading to menstruation.

However, progesterone is much more than just a hormone that facilitates pregnancy. Having sufficient levels is crucial for resilience from stress, relieving anxiety, improving memory, protecting brain cells, and contributing to bone and skin health.

Progesterone can also protect against the toxic effects of excess estrogen, leading to symptoms such as acne, stubborn weight gain, depression/anxiety, breast tenderness, cramping, and more, as experienced in PMS, Endometriosis, PCOS, and so forth.

Progesterone is not only produced in women but is also important in men as it is required for testosterone production, bone health, and prostate health. It protects the overall structure of tissues and prevents their degradation. Progesterone deficiency is less common in men, but supplementation can be helpful in times of increased stress/trauma.

    Highest Quality OTC Progesterone

This progesterone supplement raised my urine PdG (a metabolite of progesterone that tends to track fairly well with serum progesterone levels) from 2.58 ug/ml to 16.22 in ONE DAY, the highest it’s ever been. This took me from way below what I needed, passed the minimum of 10, and well into the “ideal” range! That said, ultimately I did have to go with prescription progesterone unfortunately because of the severity of my body’s need for progesterone right now. But, we trust this product more for quality and purity, so we were sad to part with it. Just needed a much higher dose for our immediate needs right now. If I ever need to supplement with progesterone again, and I can take lower doses, this is exactly what we’ll be buying!

    Progesterone for sleep

I went from a 200 mg per night bioidentical progesterone capsules to Protect 6 mg. It was a huge difference in dosage and I think it took my body awhile to adjust but all is well now. Mainly take this in post menopause for sleep. Noticed on my Oura ring deep sleep has improved! I’d like to attribute that to this highly absorbable formula.

    hot flashes diminishing

I use the progesterone internally twice daily and in a very short time I noticed my hot flashes diminishing. They aren't gone yet but I know this is helping. I love the formula too. The taste is totally doable. Highly recommend.
