TUDCA & Ox Bile Extract capsules

Synthesized TUDCA, combined with grass-fed Ox Bile extract in a bovine gelatin capsule.

Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) is a water-soluble, conjugated bile salt. It is produced in the liver using cholesterol, deoxycholate (which is made in the intestine by bacteria and cholic acid), and the amino acid Taurine. Supplementing with TUDCA can aid digestion, liver health and detoxification by increasing bile flow and clearing out sludgy bile.

How to Take

Generally, the serving size should be taken on a relatively empty stomach. For some, this can be an hour or two after a meal. Some people may also fare better with taking it well before eating, for example first thing in the morning, 30+ minutes prior to breakfast. It can be split into 2 separate doses throughout the day if desired.

The reasoning for this is because bile salts are highly alkaline, and are excreted into the intestine after our food has been acidified by stomach acid. The combination between the acidified food, and the alkaline bile salts are what create the digestion of food, fats, and absorption of vitamins (think of adding baking soda to vinegar). We want to wait to give the food enough time to be acidified, before adding in the alkaline bile salts. However, each person is different, and therefore we recommend each person find their optimal dosing and timing methods.

TUDCA is made in small amounts in humans and larger amounts in bears and other animals such as bovines. TUDCA, taken directly from Bear Bile, has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries to improve eye health.

While bile acids are known as mild surfactants, amino-acid-conjugated bile salts like TUDCA are considered strong surfactants. This is in relation to their action as detergents for removing stuck and sludgy bile, emulsifying and helping us digest fats, and increasing bile flow from the gallbladder into the intestine.

The therapeutic value of TUDCA centers around its ability to improve bile flow. When we eliminate stuck, old, sludgy bile and improve the flow of bile, the entire metabolic function of the body is improved.

The liver becomes less congested and thus is able to perform its crucial tasks more efficiently. Fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed better, glucose from food intake is converted more efficiently into energy, digestion is improved, and ingested and stored toxins are eliminated more readily via bile.

Since 80% of thyroid hormone T3 is converted from T4 in the liver, thyroid function is accelerated with the ingestion of TUDCA, thus improving liver function. This becomes a positive feedback loop because improved thyroid function will, in turn, improve metabolism, digestion, and overall energetic function.

TUDCA and Today's Context:

Understanding the widespread liver dysfunction epidemic gives us great insight into the usefulness and therapeutic value of TUDCA supplementation. The epidemic includes highly processed food products, a seed and vegetable oil-ridden food supply, pesticides, chemical home and commercial cleaning products, alcohol overconsumption, pharmaceutical prescription drugs, ubiquitous xenoestrogens, polluted air and water, and much more.

All of these toxins we come into contact with must be processed and deactivated by our liver. The liver packages much of them into the bile, which is then excreted via the stool.

But when we are constantly faced with an onslaught of toxins, the liver can become overburdened. When this happens, the bile flow can slow down, and both bile and cholesterol will accumulate, become sludgy, and form stones that cause congestion in the liver ducts and gallbladder.

This process, over time, causes many of the conventional diseases we are familiar with, such as high cholesterol, low thyroid, elevated liver enzymes, low metabolic function, fatty liver, and fibrosis. Furthermore, when the body's #1 detox mechanism is now impaired, it must store the toxins elsewhere, typically in the fat tissue. This creates a domino effect of stubborn obesity and overall physical toxemia. The body, as one holistic system, then begins to fall further into a state of disease.

Restoring bile flow and liver function is of the absolute top priority for anyone who has lived through modern contexts such as these. Why add Ox Bile? Ox Bile provides a full spectrum of bile salts to round out the profile of the supplement, so that the body isn't taking in one and only one type of bile salt. Ox Bile has been used therapeutically for a very long time and may benefit those without a gallbladder, or those with insufficient bile production.

    Pain Reliever

I wanted to try this product our for a few months then take a break. I began taking to see if it would help with some medically unresolved pain I was having in my gallbladder area. After several scans and tests I was told my gallbladder was emptying fine - but still so much pain. I gave this a try for about 3 months - I found it helped, so I stopped taking it. After about another 3 weeks or so I noticed the pain was more frequent and stronger. I bought another bottle and began taking 2 capsules each morning on an empty stomach. That was about 2 weeks ago now, and I must say I am in much less discomfort , and having less off it. I am certain it is because of this product, Tudca Max.

    This stuff is AMAZING!!

I I totally purchased this because I had some dull pain in my upper right quadrant area. This took the pain away almost immediately. After taking for about a week, I passed 20+ gallstones! I’ll always keep a bottle in my medicine cabinet. 🙏🏽

Liver is so much more efficient

Taking TUDCA, I noticed my alcohol tolerance almost double, and my PMS was nearly gone. If you have an estrogen dominance issue, high liver enzymes, or are a drinker/smoker, this can truly help your liver heal.
